L'editoriale affronta le sfide che il pensiero sociale cattolico è chiamato a fronteggiare in un contesto internazionale sempre più complesso. Al centro della riflessione vi sono i temi della libertà, del pluralismo e della necessità di rinnovare il multilateralismo e il diritto internazionale per promuovere il bene comune.

PARIGI: E’ in fase di pianificazione un seminario intitolato “Magnifica Humanitas through Multilateral Dialogue in the Wake of Pope Leo XIV’s visit to UNESCO”, da parte della FCAPP in collaborazione con l’UNESCO e ospitato presso la sede dell’Organizzazione a Parigi. L’iniziativa si svolgerà a seguito della visita di Papa Leone XIV all’UNESCO, prevista nell’ambito del suo viaggio pastorale in Francia dal 25 al 28 settembre 2026. Ulteriori informazioni saranno comunicate prossimamente inclusa la data che attualmente si prevede sarà tra fine settembre e il 1° ottobre 2026.

VENTOTENE: seminario di studio sull’Europa. È in corso di organizzazione a Ventotene un seminario di studio sul tema “Il contributo dei Cattolici all’integrazione Europea”, promosso dalla Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice in collaborazione con il Centro Studi “Erasmo e Marciano” e l’Arcidiocesi di Gaeta. L’incontro, previsto per sabato 17 ottobre 2026 (data da confermare), approfondirà le radici dell’Europa e le sue prospettive future come protagonista di pace e sviluppo. Il seminario costituirà inoltre un momento di preparazione alla seconda Conferenza Europea della FCAPP, in programma a Bruxelles per i giorni 11 e 12 novembre 2026, come indicato nella sezione precedente di questa Newsletter.

PARIS: A seminar is in preparation entitled “Magnifica Humanitas through Multilateral Dialogue in the wake of Pope Leo XIV’s visit to UNESCO”, organised by CAPPF in cooperation with UNESCO and hosted at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The initiative will take place following Pope Leo XIV’s visit to UNESCO, during his pastoral journey to France from 25th to 28th September 2026. Further details will be announced in due course including the date which is currently expected to be between the end of September and October 1st, 2026.

WEBINAR entitled: “Amoris Laetitia and family formation at the age of education: Does adequate housing play a role?” is planned, organized by the Barcelona Chapter of FCAPP in cooperation with General Secretariat of the Foundation, to coincide with the “Synod of the family” to be held at the Vatican in the first week of October 2026. The FCAPP Barcelona Chapter has been working for some time on the topic of adequate housing and student accommodation. The exact date and timing will be confirmed as soon as possible after the summer break, but it is envisaged that the webinar will be held in the first week of October. Il progetto approfondisce la tematica della “La nuova teologia del Mediterraneo” e le implicazioni per la Dottrina Sociale della Chiesa. Essa consiste in una serie di iniziative e webinar formativi che rivolgono particolare attenzione al dialogo interreligioso ed ecumenico tra le tre religioni abramitiche del Mediterraneo. The project explores the theme of "The new theology of the Mediterranean" and its implications for the Social Doctrine of the Church. Promoted by FCAPP in cooperation with the Gregorian University and the Institut Catholique de la Méditerranée. It consists of a series of initiatives and educational webinars that focus on interreligious and ecumenical dialogue between the three Abrahamic religions of the Mediterranean. Read more

ATTIVITA’ SVOLTE E PIANIFICATE - ACTIVITIES TO DATE AND PLANNED  

Training-Forum “Sviluppo umano e nuove sfide nel Mediterraneo: approcci abramitici alle questioni sociali ed economiche. Verso una ‘Dottrina sociale del Mediterraneo". 

A partire da ottobre 2026 e fino a giugno 2027, la Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice promuoverà, in via sperimentale, il Training-Forum “Sviluppo umano e nuove sfide nel Mediterraneo: approcci abramitici alle questioni sociali ed economiche. Verso una ‘Dottrina sociale del Mediterraneo’”. L’iniziativa è organizzata in collaborazione con il Centro Cardinal Bea per gli Studi Giudaici della Pontificia Università Gregoriana, l’Institut Catholique de la Méditerranée e la Pontificia Università Antonianum. Ispirato al Manifesto di Marsiglia del 2023, il progetto intende favorire il dialogo, la formazione e la ricerca comune tra ebraismo, islam e cristianesimo, contribuendo alla costruzione di un Mediterraneo di pace.

Le iscrizioni sono aperte e le candidature saranno accettate fino a esaurimento dei posti disponibili. Training-Forum. “Human Development and its New Challenges in the Mediterranean: Abrahamic Approaches to Social and Economic Issues. Towards a ‘Social Doctrine of the Mediterranean”. 

From October 2026 to June 2027, the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation will launch, on an experimental basis, the Training-Forum “Human Development and its New Challenges in the Mediterranean: Abrahamic Approaches to Social and Economic Issues. Towards a ‘Social Doctrine of the Mediterranean’”. The initiative is organised in cooperation with the Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies of the Pontifical Gregorian University, the Institut Catholique de la Méditerranée and the Pontifical Antonianum University. Inspired by the 2023 Marseille Manifesto, the project aims to foster dialogue, education and joint research among Judaism, Islam and Christianity, contributing to the building of a Mediterranean of peace. Pubblicazioni/Publications:

Presentata in occasione della conferenza internazionale di maggio 2026 la nuova pubblicazione dal titolo: “La costruzione della pace e il dialogo interreligioso nel Mediterraneo. Dalla nuova teologia del Mediterraneo alle Scienze sociali della riconciliazione e della costruzione  della pace”, affronta il tema dello spazio geografico del Mediterraneo, oggi segnato da conflitti, migrazioni, crisi ambientali e tensioni geopolitiche ed appare come uno dei principali teatri della “Terza Guerra Mondiale a pezzi”. Questa visione drammatica contrasta con la sua storia millenaria di culla di civiltà, scambi e convivenza tra popoli e religioni. Il volume propone di superare tale paradosso, offrendo una lettura positiva e propositiva del Mediterraneo, mettendo in evidenza che tale spazio emerge quale luogo privilegiato per costruire un futuro di dialogo e di pace. Presented during the international conference held in May 2026, the new  publication entitled: “Peacebuilding and Interreligious dialogue in the Mediterranean. From the New Theology of the Mediterranean to the Social Science of Reconciliation and Peacebuilding”, explores the geographical and cultural significance of the Mediterranean region. Today, this area is marked by armed conflicts, migration, environmental crises, and geopolitical tensions, making it one of the principal theatres of the "Third World War fought piecemeal." This dramatic reality stands in stark contrast to the Mediterranean's millennia-old history as the cradle of civilizations and a crossroads of exchange, coexistence, and encounter among peoples and religions. The volume seeks to overcome this paradox by offering a constructive and forward-looking interpretation of the Mediterranean, highlighting its unique role as a privileged space for fostering dialogue, reconciliation, and lasting peace.
