Discorso di apertura di S.E.R. Mons. Giordano Piccinotti, Presidente APSA “Come esercitare la leadership e costruire il consenso in società eterogenee e plurali?” in occasione della Assemblea Generale della Fondazione.
" ...Ci troviamo dentro una stagione della storia in cui molte persone parlano di libertà, ma la sperimentano come smarrimento; invocano il pluralismo, ma lo vivono come frammentazione; dispongono di mezzi potentissimi, ma faticano a ritrovare un fine degno dell’uomo.
Il tema che guida il nostro incontro - “Il mondo alla ricerca di spiritualità: rifocalizzare libertà e pluralismo attraverso la Dottrina Sociale della Chiesa” - non nasce da un esercizio teorico. Nasce dall’ascolto della realtà, dal grido dei popoli, dall’inquietudine delle coscienze, dalla fatica delle famiglie, dalla solitudine di tanti giovani, dalla stanchezza di tanti anziani, dalla vulnerabilità dei poveri, dei migranti, dei credenti perseguitati, di quanti vengono sospinti ai margini da un’economia disordinata e da società sempre più polarizzate..." "...We find ourselves in a period of history in which many people speak of freedom yet experience it as disorientation; they call for pluralism, yet experience it as fragmentation; they possess powerful means, yet struggle to rediscover a purpose worthy of the human person.
The theme guiding our meeting – “The world in search of spirituality: refocusing freedom and pluralism through the Church’s Social Teaching” – does not arise from a theoretical exercise. It arises from listening to reality, from the cry of the peoples, from the unease of consciences, from the struggles of families, from the loneliness of so many young people, from the weariness of so many elderly people, from the vulnerability of the poor, of migrants, of persecuted believers, and of all those pushed to the margins by a disordered economy and by increasingly polarised societies..." CONFERENZA INTERNAZIONALE 2026 - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2026
La Conferenza Internazionale 2026 della Fondazione Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice si è svolta dal 28 al 30 maggio tra Roma e Città del Vaticano, riunendo membri, studiosi ed esperti internazionali attorno al tema “The World in Search of Spirituality; Refocusing on Freedom and Pluralism through the Social Doctrine of the Church”.
Nel corso delle tre giornate, i lavori hanno approfondito il contributo della Dottrina Sociale della Chiesa di fronte alle grandi sfide del nostro tempo: libertà, pluralismo, pace, dialogo interreligioso, intelligenza artificiale, coesione sociale e nuove forme di multilateralismo. La Conferenza si è conclusa con la Santa Messa nella Basilica di San Pietro e l’Udienza privata con il Santo Padre Leone XIV, che nel suo discorso ha richiamato il valore della comune umanità, della dignità di ogni persona e di una libertà vissuta come apertura all’altro e responsabilità per il bene comune. The 2026 International Conference of the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation took place from 28 to 30 May between Rome and Vatican City, bringing together members, scholars and international experts around the theme “The World in Search of Spirituality; Refocusing on Freedom and Pluralism through the Social Doctrine of the Church”.
Over the course of three days, the Conference explored the contribution of the Church’s Social Doctrine to some of the major challenges of our time: freedom, pluralism, peace, interreligious dialogue, artificial intelligence, social cohesion and new forms of multilateralism. The Conference concluded with Holy Mass in St Peter’s Basilica and a Private Audience with the Holy Father Leo XIV, who recalled in his address the value of our common humanity, the dignity of every person and freedom understood as openness to others and responsibility for the common good. Il progetto approfondisce la tematica della “La nuova teologia del Mediterraneo” e le implicazioni per la Dottrina Sociale della Chiesa. L'iniziativa è promossa dalla FCAPP in cooperazione con l'Università Gregoriana e l'Institut Catholique de la Méditerranée. The project explores the theme of "The new theology of the Mediterranean" and its implications for the Social Doctrine of the Church. Promoted by FCAPP in cooperation with the Gregorian University and the Institut Catholique de la Méditerranée. It consists of a series of initiatives and educational webinars that focus on interreligious and ecumenical dialogue between the three Abrahamic religions of the Mediterranean. Read more

Presentata in occasione della conferenza internazionale di maggio 2026 la nuova pubblicazione dal titolo: “La costruzione della pace e il dialogo interreligioso nel Mediterraneo. Dalla nuova teologia del Mediterraneo alle Scienze sociali della riconciliazione e della costruzione della pace”, affronta il tema dello spazio geografico del Mediterraneo, oggi segnato da conflitti, migrazioni, crisi ambientali e tensioni geopolitiche ed appare come uno dei principali teatri della “Terza Guerra Mondiale a pezzi”. Questa visione drammatica contrasta con la sua storia millenaria di culla di civiltà, scambi e convivenza tra popoli e religioni. Il volume propone di superare tale paradosso, offrendo una lettura positiva e propositiva del Mediterraneo, mettendo in evidenza che tale spazio emerge quale luogo privilegiato per costruire un futuro di dialogo e di pace. Presented during the international conference held in May 2026, the new publication entitled: “Peacebuilding and Interreligious dialogue in the Mediterranean. From the New Theology of the Mediterranean to the Social Science of Reconciliation and Peacebuilding”, explores the geographical and cultural significance of the Mediterranean region. Today, this area is marked by armed conflicts, migration, environmental crises, and geopolitical tensions, making it one of the principal theatres of the "Third World War fought piecemeal." This dramatic reality stands in stark contrast to the Mediterranean's millennia-old history as the cradle of civilizations and a crossroads of exchange, coexistence, and encounter among peoples and religions. The volume seeks to overcome this paradox by offering a constructive and forward-looking interpretation of the Mediterranean, highlighting its unique role as a privileged space for fostering dialogue, reconciliation, and lasting peace.
